Our Intensive Aphasia Program is a highly immersive and personalized rehabilitation experience designed for individuals living with aphasia following stroke or other neurological injury.

 

Unlike traditional therapy provided once or twice per week, this intensive model delivers concentrated treatment over several hours across several weeks to accelerate progress and maximize communication opportunities. Participants engage in a combination of individual therapy, group treatment, technology-based practice, and communication partner training, all grounded in the Life Participation Approach to Aphasia (LPAA).

 

This flagship program is personally designed and led by Sophia Apgar, M.A. CCC-SLP, owner of Insight Speech and Swallowing Therapy.

 

Participants benefit from direct access to specialized aphasia expertise and a consistent therapeutic approach throughout the program. Every aspect of treatment is individualized to support meaningful communication goals, whether returning to work, participating in family conversations, engaging in community activities, or increasing confidence in daily life.​​

• Three hours of therapy per day, four days per week

• Available in 2-, 3-, and 4-week intensive formats

• Comprehensive pre-program evaluation

• Individualized treatment plan tailored to personal goals

• Individual and group therapy sessions

• Reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension treatment as appropriate

• Technology integration and home practice recommendations

• Communication partner and caregiver training

• Final assessment with recommendations for continued progress
