Kayleigh and Sophia at Insight Speech and Swallowing Therapy's second anniversary!

At Insight Speech and Swallowing Therapy in Cherry Hill, NJ, we believe that exceptional care begins with exceptional people. That’s why we are thrilled to introduce the newest member of our team, Kayleigh Kmet, CF-SLP, a speech-language pathologist clinical fellow whose passion, training, and heart for service make her a perfect fit for our mission: providing exceptional therapy and support for adults and teens with speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders.

Kayleigh joined Insight Speech and Swallowing Therapy following her graduate externship with the practice. Throughout her graduate semester with Insight, she demonstrated a solid foundation of academic excellence and clinical experience. She brings a unique combination of evidence-based skill, warmth, and enthusiasm to her work with adults and adolescents experiencing communication, voice, and cognitive challenges. Whether helping a client regain language after a stroke or supporting someone with Parkinson’s disease to be heard clearly, Kayleigh approaches each session with thoughtfulness, dedication, and a genuine desire to help people thrive.

Educational Background

Kayleigh received her Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Lebanon Valley College, a program known for its clinical rigor and focus on interprofessional collaboration. She completed extensive coursework in teens and adult communication disorders, cognition, voice, and language development.

Her training included a variety of clinical placements, preparing her to work across the lifespan and across settings. From outpatient rehabilitation to school-based therapy, Kayleigh gained hands-on experience in treating a wide range of communication needs, learning to adapt her approach to meet the individual goals and lifestyles of each client.

When asked why speech, Kayleigh said “I am a speech-language pathologist to share my knowledge and skills to help empower individuals to communicate more effectively, participate more fully in their lives, and enhance their overall well-being.”

Special Interests: Voice, Cognition, Articulation, Social Skills, and Developmental Disorders

While Kayleigh is skilled in working with diverse populations, she has a special interest in working with individuals with Parkinson's Disease, cognitive and memory deficits, voice disorders, articulation, autism, intellectual and developmental disabilities, and pragmatic communication.

Sophia Apgar, owner of Insight Speech and Kayleigh's clinical supervisor, is excited to have Kayleigh joining the team because of her enthusiasm, energy, and skills with articulation and social communication. Kayleigh provides skills to help round out the Insight Speech and Swallowing Therapy team.
