Stuttering

Stuttering is a change in speech fluency that can be developmental, starting at a young age, or acquired following a brain injury. We are experienced with fluency disorders across the lifespan.

Disfluencies may include repeating parts of words (repetitions), stretching sounds (prolongations), or difficulty getting a word out (blocks). Stuttering may also include physical behaviors such as tension, head nodding or eye blinking, or avoiding certain words

Insight Speech and Swallowing Therapy is focused on creating a positive stuttering experience through stuttering-affirming therapy.
